Quality Improvement effort is taken in my professional area is to give everyone equal opportunity to have good mental well-being. Minimizing community risk factors for the mental health problem and promoting the mental health among the people. Accepting the mental health disabilities and support them to socially acceptable. Efforts are taken to measure the quality of behavioral health. Ensure quality health and addiction service for long-term care. Improving the quality of health service by focusing on social service providers, consumers, and transition.
Measuring the outcomes is another effort to improve the quality of services. The goal of treatment differs for each mental health problem of drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and other mental health disorders. Offering a wide variety of treatment and measuring the outcomes based on the goal is vital for quality improvement. The ultimate goal is to control the mental health symptoms and improve the quality of life of the affected individual.
Mental health classification is very important in the health care system. It is not only important for the organization but also for the research studies. It is classified based on the American Psychiatric Association from DSM 1 to DSM 5 which includes Mood disorders, bipolar disorders, Anxiety and panic disorders, substance abuse and addiction, depression, eating disorder.
Definitely, it could be a valuable initiative because it creates a mentally healthy community and avoids the violence and crimes in the society. The data collection and measurement of each disorder helpful in future research works. It will initiate the treatment program based on the needs. It implements new policies in mental health care and reduces the cost of healthcare. It also fulfills the insurance coverage and reimbursement policy in the mental health setting.
