Write 1-2 paragraphs explaining how the EKG pattern corresponds with the pathway of the heart conduction system.

Solutions

Expert Solution

This pathway is made up of 5 elements:

  1. The sino-atrial (SA) node
  2. The atrio-ventricular (AV) node
  3. The bundle of His
  4. The left and right bundle branches
  5. The Purkinje fibres

heart is capable of generating its own electrical impulse follow by contraction.

The components of the cardiac conduction system have sinoatrial node, the atrioventricular node, the atrioventricular bundle, the atrioventricular bundle branches, and the Purkinje cells.SA node initiate the sinus rhythm followed by contraction of heart.

This impulse expand from initial in the SA node throughout the atria through specialized internodal pathways, The septum stop the impulse from scattering directly to ventricles without passing through AV node. There is critical pause before the AV node depolarizes and transmits the impulse to the atrioventricular bundle. commonly called the left and right bundle branches. The Purkinje fibers are additional myocardial conductive fibers that spread the impulse to the myocardial contractile cells in the ventricles.
