STEP 1: In the discussion, write a post responding to both of the following prompts:
Think of something you’ve learned so far in this course. Use one of the mnemonics or memory tricks you learned about in this module to help you remember a psychological concept. Explain your memory aid in a sentence or two.
In at least 100 words, describe one of your earliest childhood memories and explain it in the context of what you learned in this module. How was it encoded, stored, and retrieved, and has it fallen prey to any memory failure?
The mnemonic technic I used to remember is used acronym. I always do to remember the subheadings of an essay or write-up. I make a word out of it that could be easily pronounced. FTOP for Frontal, Parietal, Occipital and Temporal lobes in the brain that are responsible for various functions.
I still remember one of my childhood memories that is very special to me when I first flew in aeroplane. We usually travel in the train but when I was 7 years old, our family decided to fly for our vacation. I asked very innocently to my father, if I have to pee where should I go and everyone laughed aloud. I was very excited about this event because I used laugh at myself whenever I thought about that. I still remember this because my family members keep talking about it whenever they come for a gathering. This is about repetition and when something repeatedly occurs, we remember it properly.
