Microbiology is scientific study of various microorganisms like bacteria,virus,fungus and protozoa which are the caustive agents of both communicable and non communicable diseases.
* Application of microbiology in nursing profession
* It helps to identify etiology and pathophysiology of diseases to give proper treatment.
* Useful in patient education regarding spread of infection and preventive measures.
* Knowledge in microbiology help the nurses in effective planning during nursing process
for better outcomes.
* Conducting health care programmes in community settings knowledge about pathogens

* In our hospital relatives of patients in ICU must use sterile gowns and footwares when
visiting the patient to avoid chances of infection inside the ICU.
* In our hospital all professional and supporting staffs who contact with the patient use
strict hand hygienic measures to control chances of infection.
