Employee Empowerment can have plenty of good benefits for the organization if managed and implemented correctly but how would you deal with employees making the wrong judgement call or having the "I am the boss" mentality?
Employee empowerment is very effective tool for the organization. It means giving power to the employees for taking decision on their own and implements it. This benefits those companies which strive for creativity. Every employee has his or her own creativity and that creativity will come into picture when he or she is given freedom to implement it. But The demerit of empowerment is that some employees start feeling themselves the boss and act in that way. The control over them becomes tough due to this issue.
In order to deal with those employees first they should be told about the reality of the employee improvement. Majority of time employees do not know why they have been given power. They think that they are performing very well and that is why they are rewarded. Clearly telling them the meaning of empowerment and clear expectation will they will make them realize about their roles and responsibilities and they will perform as per those criteria.
Major problem will be solved by this way and remaining will be solved by giving feedback with warning about their performance, behavior or wrong attitude.
These issues are misconceptions issues are could be solved by telling the employees reality.
