Expert Solution

Ques: what is the primary reason for male infertility?

Ans:

A male's fertility primarily depends on the quality and quantity of the sperm they produce. If the ejaculated sperm quantity is low or if the sperm quality is poor, then it is difficult or rather impossible for the female partner to get pregnant. Thus the primary reason for male infertility is the low sperm production or the low quality of the sperm. Apart from this there are various other possible reasons for male infertility like:

  • Blockage of tubes leading from the testicles to the penis, thus preventing it from ejaculating sperm.
  • Presence of sperm antibodies ( 1 in 16 infertile male patients ) can reduce the fertility.
  • Low levels of hormones that affect the testicles ( 1 in 100 infertile male patients ).
  • Illnesses, injuries or other chronic health problems related to sexual functions.
  • In some cases male infertility is due to genetic conditions like in Klinfelter syndrome where the person is born with an extra X chromosome.

Ques: what makes heart cells beat together?

Ans:

The alternately contracting and relaxing of the artria and ventricles, that works together, is what makes the heart cells beat and eventually pump blood. This is made possible by the electrical system present in the heart which is main source of power for this process.Electrical impulses that travels down through a special pathway through the heart triggers the heartbeat. It's the muscle cells that gives the heart its ability to beat continously and pump blood. When a complex series of ion-gated channels open and close in an organized manner a single cell beats. When millions of cells across the cardiac muscle beats together in a synchronized manner, the heart beats.Cardiomyocites, the cardiac muscle is extra strong and irrigated with extra oxygen and can contract and extend themselves and together they make the heart beat.
