Thus the primary reason for male infertility is the low sperm production or the low quality of the sperm. Apart from this there are various other possible reasons for male infertility like:

• Blockage of tubes leading from the testicles to the penis, thus preventing it from ejaculating sperm.
• Presence of sperm antibodies ( 1 in 16 infertile male patients ) can reduce the fertility.
• Low levels of hormones that affect the testicles ( 1 in 100 infertile male patients ).
• Illnesses,injuries or other chronic health problems related to sexual functions.
• In some cases male infertility is due to genetic conditions like in Klinfelter syndrome where the person is born with an extra X chromosome.
