Inequality in the human society has known to be a curse since the mankind set feet on the planet Earth. During the stone age, there prevailed an inequality among the homo sapiens that was based on differnce in the body structure i.e. gender inequality. As the human society developed and we started to accumalte the knowledge of the world and started saving data in the brains, the humans started to notice differences in colour, appearance, language, eating habits and other social affairs that led to a number of social inequalities.
In the modern society, the biggest causes of inequality and discrimination still are colour, race, gender and religious believes. The countries that accomodate people with a number of cultures happen to see a lot of cases of discriminations that more often than not leads to social movements that sometimes also turn viloent leading to riots. A recent example of such movement is The Black Lives Matter movement that took place after the murder of George Floyd, a person of colour that was killed during a police arrest. The incident casued a havoc not only in USA but all around the globe.
Religiously diverse countries like Sinagpore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, China, etc. also tend to witness a lot of cases of discrimations that more occassionaly turn vilonent. The sentiment and respect towards the religions, when offended makes the followers resentful leading them to destruction of life and property on huge scales.
The 1994 Rawandan Genocide incident is one of the biggest disgarce to humanity in the history. In this incident, about 800,000 to 1,000,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu were killled with guns and melee weapons in a span of 100 days. Almost a million people were involved in this horrific incident of genocide and looting.
The incident left a huge dent on the social, cultural and economic conditions of Rawanda. The genocide led to a decrease in the GDP by 25-30% while the social loss cannot be calculated.
