The solute HCl(A) is diffusing through a 2-mm thick film of water (B) at 283 K. The concentration of HClat point 1 at one boundary of the film is 12 wt% HCl(density r1=1060 kg/m3), and at the other boundary at point 2 it is 6 wt% HCl(r2=1030.3 kg/m3.) Take diffusion coefficient of HClin H2O as 2.5e-9 m2/s, assume steady state and one boundary impermeable to water. Calculate the flux of HCl ( in mol/m^2*s)

Consider the following reaction at 283 K: 2A + B → C + D where rate = k[A][B]2. An experiment was performed where [A]o = 2.67 M and [B]o = 0.00241 M. A plot of 1/[B] vs. time has a slope of 10.01. What will the rate of this reaction be when [A] = [B] = 0.345 M?

1. Tris buffer a. 100 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0 b. 100 mM Tris-HCl, pH 6.0 Make this buffer by dissolving an appropriate amount (which you must calculate using the formula weight) of solid Tris in APPROXIMATELY 80 mL of water. Use the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation to calculate how much 1 M HCl is needed to achieve the final pH?

Water is flowing through a pipe having the diameter 200 mm and 100 mm at sections 1 and 2 respectively. The rate of flow through the pipe is 35 liters per second. The section 1 is 6000 mm and section 2 is 4000 mm above the datum line. If the pressure at the section 1 is 0.4 N/mm2, find the intensity of pressure at section 2.
