Identify the effects of various influences on voting behavior, including education, income, religion, race/ethnicity, gender, and geography. How do you feel these influences effect your vote?
Education: An educated mind is in a better position to think rationally. As a learned individual is not easy to deceive as compared to an uneducated one.
Income: there are many factors that would be taken into consideration as the influence of all the parties would not be positive on all types of business firms.Hence if I belong to a diamond trading company then I would vote for a party that is likely to get me progress by adopting policies that will enable me to earn more.
Religion: It might be a though in the head of religiously driven people that a candidate belonging to their religion would only bring them progress by understanding their problems, hence irrespective of the capability of the opponent they end up choosing someone belonging to their caste or religion.
Race: A person belonging to certain race or ethnicity is most likely to elect a person belonging to the same race or caste. A person belonging to the minority would always vote for another minority candidate to come into power feeling proud of the same.
Gender: Gender plays a very dominant role in voting. Gender of the candidate plays a vital role as they are considered to know the suffering of the particular gender they seem to represent, it is so thought that they are in a better position to redress the same as compared to the opposite gender.
Geography: Geographical aspects like turnout, weather conditions to affect the decision to vote or not.
