Describe the Security (defense from invasion), Stability (capacity to ensure social peace), and Prosperity (enhance quality of citizens) issues of Senegal.
The country of Senegal has recently been well accepted as one of the most dangerous and threatful countries for foreigners to visit. This hugely accepted revelation comes from the background where Senegalese defense against any kind of foreign invasion has been found to be totally out of place. The Senegalese forces have not been able to defend its nation from smallest of intruder forces in the last few decades. There have been many instances where the forces have been accused of letting the defense of the country down, when they were expected to stand up against the intruding forces.
Stability in Senegal has been under tremendous question in the last few decades. There has been reports that instances such a murder in open streets, small pickpocketing’s, dacoity, robbery, illegal arms business, and unrest in society has been the trend of the Senegalese atmosphere. Under such circumstances, the people in the country always live under a huge fear of being looted and in constant expectation of the forces coming to their rescue in anything untoward takes place. The local police in the country has also been accused of helping the unsocial elements and not taking the tough stand against them when they can. This has bolstered the mischiefs of the unsocial elements in the society which has made the social stability highly unlikely in this country.
Under the circumstances of high social unrest and political instability, the development and prosperity of Senegal has been out of the equation for many years now. Social or economic development can only take place when a country is politically stable. Stability in politics and internal affairs help a nation to sit down and plan for a better tomorrow, in both political, social and economic terms. However, the all-round instability prevailing in Senegal has always kept the economic, political or social development and prosperity of the country at bay, which has directly affected the lives of its citizens. The people of Senegal are under tremendous social, political and economic unrest.
