provide 5 ways/methods and explain them on how global warming can be reduced in the future?
Ans.
There can be following ways in which you can solve the problem of climate change -
(1) Using technolgies and better innovations. Example - we did not know about HCFCs few years back but in Montreal Protocol, decided to put a ban on emission of GHGs and hence innovated new technologies which led us to HCFCs and use of HCFCs instead of CFCs. Because of which the ozone hole in the southern hemisphere has recovered. Also we have switched over from CFLs and Filament bulb to LEDs which is less disastrous to the environment. Hence, technology can play a very important role in this.
(2) Reduction in use of conventional sources of energy and instead of that we need to use solar energy and other sources of renewable energy. Recently formed International Solar Alliance also has a target to generate about 3000 giga watt of electricity by 2030 using solar cells.
(3) We need to reduce consumption of pork. I know it is little unacceptable. But University of Minnesota did a research saying that fostering pigs, beefs etc release a large number of methane which is about 80% more harmful than Carbon dioxide. We can reduce this release of methane by consuming more veggies and fish instead of pork or meat. Their excreata and fertilisers used in growing fodder for them will cause huge emissions causing global warming.
(4) More focus or reuse, renew, redesign philosophy
(5) More focus in homes like we can reduce the global warming by taking few steps in our home like by switching of lights when not in use, not wasting water, vehicle sharing, using more public transport etc. Greta Thunberg also found her parents ideal for this and her environmentalist nature came from there. There is a need to become environmentlaists for all of us.
