Assuming that a pregnant woman wants to apply virtue ethics to the dilemma of abortion, what specific character traits/virtues should she emulate and why? What is the source of these specific character traits/virtues? Are they gender specific (i.e., applicable only to women) or they gender neutral (i.e., applying to men as well as women)? Why?
Abortion is termination of pregnancy. It is legal till 1st trimester of pregnancy. In such a dilemma, it us helpful to have an ethical framework that can be used to determine the right course of action.
She should determine her life goals, like if abortion leads to character or a state of well being that she won't regret for rest of her life.
She should know the important thing to consider is not the inconvenience that an unwanted pregnancy brings but the long term effects of abortion to the mind, body, soul. The goal is healthy mind and inner peace.
Source can be any other women who has experienced abortion or thought of it but did not actually do.
It is mostly applicable to women but not entirely because men are also not equally but mostly contributing and attached to the pregnancy. They may not be carrying the baby or feeling any hormonal change but they have their mind set to it so it need to be done together. But women should take consent and then decide character traits on her own.
