Food processing means transformation of agricultural product into food .we can say one form into other form.there are two type of food processing 1) primary food processing which make food edible 2) secondary food processing which turn ingredients into familar foods.

food waste means any solid or liquid food substance (raw or cooked) which is discarded.this includes processing,handling ,storage ,sale,preparation etc.

Food processing can reduce food waste by way of -

1)packing improvement or enhancement - packing improvement means providing clear expiration date labels,offering better cooking .

2) To educate consumer - if consumer aware about food waste impact then consumer can reduce food waste.manufacture can provide learning to properly preserve leftovers and controlling portion.

3) forecasting accuracy improvement - manufacturers waste raw material because they think they need to produce certain number of product and in that case they wind up needing less perishable goods go to waste.

4) ERP software installation - ERP software provide single solution of all package.through ERP overstocking ,shelf life analysis, tracking of lot is easy..

5)CURB PORTION SIZE -curbing of portion size can reduce food waste.
