Polycystic kidney disease is a genetic disease that causes many cysts to grow inside the kidneys.
2.pathophysiology
Polycystic kidney disease is a genetic disorder of renal cyst formation causing gradual enlargement of both kidneys in form of cyst , sometimes with progression to renal failure. Almost all forms are caused by a familial genetic mutation. Characterized by flank and abdominal pain, hematuria, and hypertension accumulation of fluid-filled cysts in the kidney and other organs. ADPKD is caused by mutations of either the PKD1 gene on chromosome 16 or the PKD2 gene on chromosome 4
3.Treatment
ACE inhibitor : lowers blood pressure and prevents diabetes-related kidney damage.
