a. Broadening effects the performance. The broadening idea covers larger perspective for the problem definition. Hence, when we cover the larger area of approach we need a better management which in turn results in the performance. Management is wider in case of broadening idea as we need better planning, staffing, coordinating, controlling, decision making, etc. Hence, the approach to deal with this also needs the effective management with idea. So, we need to define the performance as it may vary. The performance definition would help in proper strategy making as well as well-defined steps to achieve it. Any conflicts leads to unhealthy performance. We define the performance by defining the set of objectives need to achieve. This is called as Management by objective (MOB). It can also defines the KPI (Key performance Indexes) to the approach. For each of the steps we need a proper supervision and monitoring so as to achieve the goal.

b. Broadening effect the management in terms of positive outcomes as well as negative outcomes. The broadening idea needs a well-defined approach by the manager. Manager who is in line with the process has to go through the performance problems. As the idea is broaden so the conflicts would also arises. These can effects the performance. Hence, the manager should be clearly defined the approach to the broadening idea. The manager should not avoid any issues comes in the process. The solution to the problems should be ready before it may arise. The effective monitoring and supervision is the only solution can helps the manager to diagnose a performance problem.
