You are the new assistant to the Food and Beverage Director for a major hotel with 250 guest rooms. The Food and Beverage Director has asked for your assistance to develop a plan for continuous improvement of the quality of food, and the performance of the kitchen staff. Discuss the key factors in productivity improvement and how you will implement the changes you are proposing in your new plan.

Steps to Improve the performance of Kitchen-
1. Understand the process of kitchen and all process station.
2. Work out the what is the best way and the time to perform the activity.
3. Work on the below factors of improvement of productivity and quality performance.
Factors can improve the productivity and quality performance –
· Accountability – Make the employee accountable for their work, he can take small decision related to work by this he feels more responsible and owning the activity.
· Follow up- Take the regular follow-up with the team to get the work done on time, sometimes follow-up makes work faster.
· Encourage, motivate and recognize - Encourage the team, encouraging them helps them move forwards and even better than the current situation.
Timely recognize the employee for their best effort.
· Manage the workforce but avoid the micromanagement - Manage the team, provide the directions. But with this they must be also trusted, give the freedom for their work.
· Reach out to employee by seeking them out – try to understand what the employee trying to say and perform as the part of his team to resolve the issue.
· Demand the realistic target – Understand the process and demand the realistic target, do not demand the unrealistic target because loos the performance of work and mistake also done in work.
· Team Work – Work in the team and make the team understand that organization success depends on the all team member success not signal person make the work alone.
· Ensure the team enjoy their work- The best performance come from the happy employee try to find the ways to employee do the work happily.
· Break the monotony and rotate- try the rotate the employee at work by this all employee can trained on all station also the one-person monopoly break.
· Continuous improvement – this is one of the best practice. Work with the team on the philosophy of continuous improvement. Identify the opportunity to improve the performance.
· Ensure the tool and equipment capable – Ensure the tool right and ready to use. Try to implement the new tools which can improve the productivity.
