My experience at the residency session improved your practical knowledge of Physical Security. The facilities and the equipment at the session help me an insight into how physical security works. The lectures materials, case presentations and group presentation also improve my knowledge of physical security. The weekend residency session enables me to see practical sub-sessions demonstration of how various components of physical security works[Bea041]. For instance, I was able to see how access control, surveillance and testing protocols work. I was able to see how fences, biometric authentication, access control smart cards, locks, surveillance cameras, protective physical barriers, notifications systems, noise and smoke detectors plus moreother works[Sta122]. This improved my practical experience and knowledge of physical security.

Steps are given below

Explanation:

1. The residency session was quite informative for all the participants. The focus was not just on teaching the techniques but the participants were made to do hands-on practice of the same, which proved quite beneficial for the participants. The session improved self-confidence as well as self-belief in the participants. The nuances of dodging various types of accidents were taught which could prove quite beneficial in the actual life setting.

2. The key takeaways from the session, which I will try to incorporate in my career and future life are:

  • One must always remain vigilant in life to reduce probability of accidents
  • Risk assessment is quite critical in any situation and one must try to inculcate the same to avoid any kind of adversities
  • Working in a team has higher percentage of objective achievement than working alone

3. It is important to work in a team. Every individual in a team comes with a different mindset, thought process and approach, hence the comprehensive evaluation of the problem gets ensured. Working collaboratively facilitates decision making as well as problem solving. Also risk assessment gets facilitated as each member can have a viewpoint of analyzing the system and identifying risk. All these enhance the probability of achieving the end goal.
