In difficult financial times, companies face various moral issues to try keep up with their competitors. Although these issues have a direct impact on employee decision making, businesses rarely address how employees should assess the ethics of their actions and incorprate ethics into their decision. Often this can be alleviated by creating and maintaining a corprate culture with a focus on ethics. Corprate culture is often considered to be both a source of various problems and the basis for solutions and is certainly a factor that determines how people behave in an organization. The role of management in the organizational culture is important as it both acts as a role model for the employees and can also directly influence the behavior and culture to improve organizational performance. Of cource there are better methods that management can use to incorporate ethics into the corprate culture or increase the likehood that its employees will act ethically and these methods are explored.
The relationship between corprate social responsibility and public relation attracts heated debates among public relations practitioners. Some are adamant about the complete separation of the two. Other, however, see the relationship as nothing but a tool, a marketing trick, so to speak, for an organisation's blatant self-promotion. Make the most of your corprate social responsibility activities by publicising them. Ensure that customer, suppliers and the local community know what you are doing. CSR lends itself to good news stories and is a source of positive public relation. CRS is an argument based on two forms of ethical reasoning-consequentialist and categorical. The violation of a society's ethical principles regarding problems of social justice, human rights, and environmental stewardship is deemed to be ethically wrong and socially irresponsible.
