Watch the video Extreme Seniors
How is ageism affecting our "gray America" today? Albeit, there are some "extreme seniors" that are fighting the usual discrimination. What do you think is happening?
The video shows few aged people play, go for trekking and engage in outdoor activities such as cycling. So, it would be unfair to limit their movement in the name of age. Almost all the countries have a growing aging population that pose a great challenge to the countries in terms of making facilities available for them, engage them fruitfully, meeting the growing labour demands. Although there are enough programmes that run for the elderly making their retirement life meaningful, there are still discriminations based on their ability to do things. They are a generation that shaped this nation but when it comes to ageing they face all the discriminations in the society. Age determines whether one could work, study and use certain public facilities due to their physical fragility. Although companies and governments can use their expertise, they are put to rest by them. There are lots of activities that could be arranged for the aged population and they are capable of doing them.
