The Behavior Modification of a juvenile mind is done through following methods:
(1)Behavior modification is a therapeutic approach designed to change a particular undesirable negative behavior of a juvenile.
(2)By using a system of positive or negative consequences, a juvenile learns the correct set of responses for any given stimulus.
(3)So, Behavior modification involves positive punishment, negative punishment, positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement.
(4)Positive punishment approach of behavior modification involves adding a consequence that will deter the juvenile from repeating the behavior. Example: Telling a child to write an apology letter after he hurts someone's feelings.
(5) Negative punishment approach of behavior modification involves removing something from a juvenile. Example: Taking away a juvenile's electronics privileges when he commits a mistake.
(6) Positive reinforcement approach refers to giving a juvenile something that reinforces good behavior.
Example: Allowing a child to earn time to play on his tablet because he completed his homework.
