Cognitive strategies:

For learning, cognitive strategies have been one of the easiest way through which a learner could be learning through different steps. As the learner would be paying attention to the different steps. A cognitive strategy would be serving such that the learner would be supported as they would be developing internal procedures.

Cognitive strategies are important In The skill of reading comprehension. Self questioning strategies could be helping the students such that they could understand what they have just read. Students would be generating questions as they would be combining different aspects of their text, such that they could understand.

Using cognitive strategies would be increasing the efficiency with which a learner could be approaching a task.

When planning for an instruction lesson, it is required that the teacher should be :

  • Evaluating the content that they would be covering
  • Determining the approaches that are required for the success of the student
  • The teacher should be identifying if the content is important for their student
  • The manner in which the students would be utilise the information provided in the class , behind the class.

In order to help the student learn best, the following should be done:

  • ​The teacher could be providing a real life example in association with the lesson taught, such that the student could be associating it with the lesson that has been taught.
  • Student should be given verbal cues as well as visual cues for the study.
  • Imagery could also be used, where, the student would be transforming the given information into an imagery form, such that they would remember them.
  • Students could use mnemonics such that target information would be transformed into phrases or words that are related.
  • Organisation is where the student would be categorising the information into sequences,
