choose one of the developmental theories (phychosexual-freud, psychosocial-eirkson, cognitive-piaget, or moral development-kohlberg) and exlain when and why would bullying occur.

Solutions

Expert Solution

One of the most comprehensive and inclusive developmental theory is Erikson’s psychosocial development. people typically go through eight stages and each stage is important to achieve in order to successfully move to the next stage. Deficiency in one stage would affect the development in the next stage. In my opinion, bullying occurs during the fourth stage which is industrious vs inferiority. One of the most important reasons for this is because of the fact that people who do not build trust in the first stage, autonomy in the second stage and initiative in the third stage would develop a sense of inferiority. This would build frustration in them because they wouldn’t learn to respect, trust and appreciate the world instead, they would see others as a threat and would treat them badly in order to satisfy their inferiority complex. Although some would continue to do it during the fifth stage which is identity vs role confusion, it would be mostly seen during the fourth stage.
