Here we will discuss the type of diversity that is an experience in the workplace, along with the challenges that managers have in handling the specific type of diversity. We will also research different examples and types of diversity, each student will present a different definition of the term. Our company would be Johnson and Johnson.
Diversity can be described as the variety or the diverse kind of individuals working at the same workplace this is known as diversity in the workplace. Various types of diversities can be experienced in the workplace.
Workplace diversity is of many types such as- religion, sex, culture, age.
RELIGION:- There can be various people of various religion can work at a workplace, as there is no restriction of religion. sometimes the managers find it hard to cope with the various religious backgrounds of the various employees, as it can be hard for the manager to take the decision which suits employees of every religion. For example:- it would be very hard for the manager to decide whether to give the employees the Diwali bonus, the Ramadan bonus, or the Christmas bonus.
SEX:- sex diversity is very common in the workplace, as at the workplace there can be both males and females working together as coworkers.
CULTURE :- Culture difference or cultural diversity plays a very important role in the organization. People of different cultures have different perspectives, and it is very hard for the manager to cope with the different perspectives of employees at the workplace. the ultimate goal of an organization is the organizational goal of the common goal but sometimes the diversity difference makes it hard to achieve.
AGE:- age also very important factor when it comes to the workplace diversity as, there are various age groups people working at the same workplace, there can be new trainees, there can be employees of middle age, and there can be employees who are soon going to be retired and the manager has to maintain the balance between all the age group employees.
