Give examples of social, task, transformation and transactional leadership styles.
EXAMPLES-
1- Social leadership-
Vinoba Bhave, a true social leader from India who leaded the "Bhudan Aandolan" (Land Donation Movement).
The movement included the participation of the rich and the elite farmers who possessed hundreds of acres of land, some portion of which was requested to be donated to people belonging to bottom of pyramid and were landless.
This leadership by Vinoba Bhave made the downtrodden to live with respect. Thousands of acres of land was donated/ transferred from rich farmers on Vinoba's request.
2- Task leadership-
Dr. Tedros Adhanom, Director General of Wprld Health Organisation is currently displaying the task oriented leadership through his work in the context of the contemporary pandemic COVID-19.
3- Transformational leadership-
Mahatma Gandhi is perhaps the best example for transformational ledership as he indeed transformed the societal facets, specifically injustice, inequlity into true justice and equality. Non violence was the backbone of his leadership style.
4- Transactional leadership-
Vladimir Putin can be said to be a transactional leader as he values the organisation, control, planning, directing, organising. Further he emphasises rewards and punishments.
Compliance is promoted by him. He loves frameworks while functioning.
