Please discuss your thoughts about your own spirituality and how you engage with this dimension of the human condition. What parallels do you see with the neolithic people who built stonehenge? Why do we as humans need to find meaning beyond our earthly existence?
Spirituality for me is believe in something that is yet undiscovered that might be undescoverable by humans, or might be discovered in the future that can explain aspects of life that yet remains mystery for us such as our consciousness, out of body experiences, what happens after death, why is everything as it is, it it just randomness or is it something that we don't yet know of all that what remains unexplained gives rise to a belief in unknown and that's what I think is named as spirituality. Neolithic people made stonehenge that is believed to be used in a ritual that symbolised passage from life to death, in new age religions too the ritual related to death are similar, it is considered a spiritual passage, because it is believed that there is life after death too that's beyond perception of bodily lives, in my culture that is Hinduism when people dies they are helped by living relative to pass to another world by offering food, cloths and all the necessary things that can be used in the journey after death. So people do believe that there is meaning beyond this earthly existence. Humans need to find meaning beyond earthly existence because there is a mystery about our consciousness and human by nature are curious beings, many people claim to experience coming back to life after death seeing the passage of death, those experiences cause curiosity. Also human by nature believed themselves to be special and hence they believe that there should be higher purpose to human life that may exist beyond earthly existence.
