The legal dimensions of corporate social responsibility includes following the laws, rules, regulations and policies formulated by government of the countries where the company is doing business. It is important to abide by the law of land that generally encompasses the environmental protection measures, release and disposal of industrial wastes, workers and employee rights, fair wages, avoiding discrimination and providing good working conditions. The legal dimensions of corporate social responsibility also includes the rights of consumers and their protection as per the constitution. Thus ,foremost corporate social responsibility is ensuring that the company follows the rules and regulations related to environmental protection, employees and customers so that they are not harmed by the corporate activities.
The laws of different countries, special interest groups, employees, shareholders and consumers consider the legal responsibilities of the corporates as extremely important and form perceptions about such businesses accordingly. Financial responsibility and avoidance of frauds are also example of legal corporate social responsibility. Such businesses face legal actions from the government if they violate the laws related to any of the environmental, social, political, employee related and ethical issues.
