Non verbal communication signals involve facial expressions, hand gestures etc., which also play a role in conveying what we want to convey to others. But the meanings of these signals might convey different messages to different kinds of people depending on their perceptions. For example , When we sit in a meeting involving international delegates, one person might be waving his hands too much which might convey wrong meaning to some and might be normal to others. One more example is when a person is laughing while explaining a serious matter, some people might understand that the person is not serious on the matter while the others might not get bothered about it much . Also the way we listen to a person speaking conveys a lot of meaning to others. Some might take it seriously and get offended if we seem relaxed while some might think we are listening everything carefully with ease. Hence non verbal communication signals give different meaning to different people depending on their culture and upbringing in inter cultural team meetings.
