One function of your job is to analyze internal data such as medical records, patient surveys, and incident reports to track trends and help improve patient care delivery. Your supervisor just came back from a seminar on quality benchmarking and has asked about your thoughts on analyzing secondary data from the health care industry as a way to benchmark and measure the organization's quality performance against its peers. You have been asked to prepare a report on the use of both secondary data and internal data as way to improve quality in your organization. Complete the following:

The data from the primary source by the researcher is consider as primary data. All internal day are primary and they are more reliable than other data.

Secondary data which are obtained from the external source other than the internal data.

In health care organization the benchmarking for quality assurance is plays a great role for the better rendering of care for patients. So the quality care should confine in primary data which shed lights to the weakness in our system of care. In setting bench mark the primary data will plays crucial role and it will more reliable and valid data for the process.

Secondary data not always reliable and valid for setting bench marking. It varies and change the accuracy level in different organization. All organization should have unique system for caring patient so benchmarking also unique so it more needed is primary data for more reliability and validity.
