Psychology is the study of mind and behaviour and this would mean that learning psychology would help people not only understand themselves but also others around them. it’s because of the fact that psychology deals with concepts such as, personality, motivation, memory, learning, aggression etc. which would help individuals have better control over their thoughts, emotions and behaviours. It’s also applied in various areas of life such as, education, healthcare, criminal justice system etc. making it an appropriate discipline for everyone to learn.

One of the most important things that could be included in general psychology is the cultural differences that plays a major role in shaping people’s personality, motivation, memory, learning, aggression etc. This would help people understand the differences in other people from various other cultures. It would also help them understand the importance of understanding people from their own backgrounds without stereotyping them.
