How is professional coalitions and organizations might best be applied by the public health professional at the macrosystem level, and why
Professional coalition is an effective way to achieve a coordinated approach for reducing the risk factors like poor nutritional status, physical inactivity that will have a major impact on chronic disease across all ages. Majority of the death are caused by common preventable conditions. Certain chronic diseases like heart attack , stroke ,cancer ,liver cirrhosis are caused by small number of preventable factors like unhealthy diet ,physical inactivity,, tobacco use.
Usually coalitions are formed for many reasons, primarily their formed for any local responsibility or challenges.Usually they are formed against a particular health condition, after identification of the issue by one or more sectors, partners come together to collaborate.These coalitions have been very effective in community level such as on violence prevention and physical activity in old age.When these efforts become successful it can bring significant changes in the infrastructure, material and financial resources by improving quality of life.
Another advantage of this broad-based coalition is that this participatory form can be applied to inform and guide the the research community.
Here they uses health impact pyramid framework to facilitate planning program review and implementation of directives. With the collaboration of the partners, the network was utilised to undertake surveillanceof Health and wellness in the community.The purpose of undertaking such a surveillance is to determine the types of programs available currently , identify the gaps in programs and to use the resources to produce maximum impact.

The healthcare professional realises that improving the health of the people not only rest on the shoulders of hospitals and physician, but also it requires collaboration ,responsibility and accountability across various sectors.
The coalition is an organisation of diverse interest group peoples who join their material and human resources to produce a change that there are unable to produce as independent individual. When these coalition become successful, they can bring about significant measurable changes in community infrastructure, resources and health outcomes thus improving overall quality of life.
It also allows for a consistency in community's approach for addressing health issues.
