All public companies now have a Code of Ethical Conduct. In addition there are professional organizations that assist in helping their members resolve ethical conflicts. Go to the Institute of Management Accountant’s website (http://www.imanet.org/docs/default-source/press_releases/ethics_prof_prac.pdf?sfvrsn=2) to view its Statement on Ethical Professional Practice. If you experience an ethical dilemma at your organization, would the recommendations presented in the “Resolution of Ethical Conflict” be helpful? Have you, or any you have known, been faced with an ethical dilemma at work? How has it been resolved? What resources are there to help you when you need advice on an ethical dilemma? A situation in which we have to make choices between two important alternatives is known as as situtaion of ethical dilemma.

Such a situation may arise because of attitude differences , behaviorial differences , conflicts between personal values and company objectives , or when social values do not agree with the organisation goals.

Basically a code of ethics is a lsit of guiding princilples given by the company to the employee if he or she faces at any time the situation of ethical dilemma.

At any point of time if an employee faces the situation of ethical dilemma then to resolve it first of all take the legal action.

Then go through the code of ethics designed by the company and given to you at the time of joining the organisation.

Yes I had suffered from the situation of ethical dilemma at workplace and I referred the following resources that helped me in resolving the situation.

1.First of all I followed the legality process. Sometimes it happens that ethical dilemma may arise because of not following the law. So it is necessary to obey the law.

2.Then I reviwed the code of ethics of the company at the time of joining that was given to me.I identified that wether such situation occurred because of not following any principle that were mentioned in the code of ethics manual.

Like if code of ethics expects fom me to be honest and disciplined then I have to act honestly in performing all the tasks of the organistion.

3.The third action I took was research and investigation. This means to collect and gather information fom various other persons working in the organisation.

I asked about the same from other employees that what they had done in such a situation.

It is very important that what you have heard to keep it very confidential.

There are various employees who can misguide you so we have to be very careful in taking decisions.

4.Always consider the advantages and disadvantages before taking the final decisions and discussing the same with your boss or manager.
