how can you describe motivational challenges for obese people?
Different educationists have given their own definition of a motive. Woodworth says, “a motive is a set or a state of the individual that disposes him towards certain behavior and towards seeking certain goals.” Mcgeoch defines a motive as, “Any condition of an individual which points or orients him toward the practice of a given task and which defines the adequacy of his activities and the completion of the task.” All these definitions imply that there is a goal object by reaching which the motivating condition is satisfied. This goal object is called an incentive. Motives are within the individual, whereas incentives are outside objects or situations by reaching which motives are satisfied.
The obese people suffer from the inferiority problem. The psychologists advise them to avoid obesity. Therefore the obese people do exercise as they are advised. They continue to do so as they want to reach their goal. They are motivated to be free from the problem of obesity and they are also motive that it is very easy to be free from such problem. They regularly do exercise. They maintain control in their food habit. They do not take excessive food as their goal is set with the help of motivation.
To motivate them some examples are presented before them. They are presented many pictures where the people show their success in the way of doing the same task. Then the presentations work as stimulant and they are motivated to reduce their level of obesity. In doing so, if there is proper motivation, most of the people succeed in doing so.
