1) as per evolutionary psychology, there are two kinds of motivation to increase the survival by improving adaptation.

Avoidance motivation refer to avoiding any category of end states that is usually associated with threats to fitness such as danger of death or serious impairment of reproducing ability , loss of survival essentials, death of offspring etc.

2) social learning theory of bandura.

Bandra suggested that all learning cannot be accounted for using behaviorist reinforcement by direct exposure. He included some if the cognitive factor like memory and motivation along with behaviorist concept of reinforcement to design a new theory . Social learning theory suggest mist behavior is learned through observation , imitation and role playing.

eg A child may not have played a cricket match ever but have watched several matches. If he is given bat fir first time , he would know the basic of how to grip the bat and how to swing it.
