How to Deal with Manipulative People?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Manipulative people are those

  • who influence or attempts to influence others for their own benefits
  • They use manipulation as a "strategy" to get what they want.
  • They use your weakesses against you.
  • They are self- oriented who treat others as objects.
  • They make you feel that you have no self confidence so that they can take advantage of you.
  • Their only agenda is control.
  • And they try blaming others for their problems by playing the victim card.

So letting manipulative people into our lives can be very hard on us. And thus dealing with them is important and can be done by following ways:

  • Recognize that controlling our reaction is entirely on us.
  • Ignoring manipulative people is one of the best ways to deal with them. They just try to get reaction from us, and when they come to know about things that triggers our reaction they will use it against us to influence our actions.
  • Trust yourself enough to have your opinions and take decisions.
  • Hold onto your set boundaries as per your belief system.
  • If something doesnt't feel right just don't it, no matter whomsoever tries convincing you. Stick to your thoughts.
  • Stand for your own self.
  • Believe in your own self and love yourself for the person you are
  • Recognize people who genuinely need you and who are using you for their selfish motives
  • Be proud of your accomplisments, and never feel guilty of your past and mistakes.
  • Have enough self respect and learn to say no firmly to people who mistreat you.
  • Surround yourself with positive and likeminded people.

Obesity is a major stigma in our society. People who are obese face a great deal of prejudice and discrimination.
