For this assignment, you will compare/contrast a controversial topic in lifespan development - the immunization controversy in the medical profession. Be certain that your answers are cogent, well-formed, and supported by outside research rather than based on personal opinion.
Write about the immunization controversy in the medical profession. Be sure to address why people delay immunizations and why some refuse all immunizations for their children. As a medical professional, how might you educate these caregivers about their child's health and development concerning this issue? What is your role in this process/situation? How can you best respect the caregiver's wishes and provide the best healthcare in this situation?
Immunization remains a controversy in the field of medical profession. Some people consider natural immunity as much better than any type of vaccination. There is a fact that that natural infection may create immunity but its is also a truth that natural infection may lead to generation of other health related complications.
For example infection of natural polio may cause permanent paralysis. This fact makes immunization/vaccination much better than natural infection. Some people also consider that vaccination may cause autism but this is also a fact that rigorous researches have been conducted but none of them have found any correlation between childhood vaccination and autism.
Some people consider that vaccination may produce dangerous side effects. This is also not true because generally it has been seen that vaccination only causes a low grade fever. There may also be soreness the site of injection.
Death or any other serious illness due to vaccination has never been reported. Delay in vaccination may cause serious threat to health. If we avoid a vaccine then we may become an easy victim of those diseases which could have been avoided.
