After you have viewed the videos on Mental Status Examinations under Module 2, answer the following question: (1) What did you learn about a Mental Status Examination? Elaborate with specifics from the videos.
The Mental Status Exam is closely resembling the physical exam: it is a progression of observations and examinations at one point in time. Centered inquiries and observations can uncover "normal" or pathological discoveries. Despite the fact that our observations happen with regards to an interview and may in this way be requested contrastingly for every patient, the report of our discoveries is requested and "paints a photo" of a patient's appearance, thinking, emotion and cognition. The information from the Mental Status Exam, joined with individual and family chronicles and Psychiatric Review of Systems, frames the information base from which psychiatric diagnoses are shaped.
