Miriam and Devon are both upper-level managers, but have very different decision-making styles. Please name and describe in your own words four decision making processes that could be used to guide their decision making. In addition, provide and explain in your own words 10 ways in which their decision could, in general, be derailed or hindered, and explain each.

Decision making is not as easy as everyone thinks instead it requires a lot of mental work to be done before making it. For a positive results from a decision making, many things have to be seen and verified like logical thinking, effect of all possible decisions and its impact. Decision making is not something that can be taken like playing business game(Monopoly).

Decision making not only gives good results that is already expected, it also involve taking risk if something went wrong by taking such a decision. So the person who is incharge of taking the decision should also be good risk taker. The decision chosen should be good in all perspective instead only profit because based on this decision, the future of the business can be predicted and taken a chance to appreciate or make changes accordingly.

Here we are going to start the business in some new location, where the business should withstand and start giving profit as the current location. Inorder to achieve this, one should take decision based on following factors:

  • Should be logically correct.
  • Also coincides with the local people's mentality.
  • The decision maker should have knowledge of the place and the people living there and their taste.

To run a buisness in a completely new place, then the decision maker should consider all the above mentioned things amd also use his experience to have a good start-up over here. He can think as he wish but he should always think about business in a new location as it plays a major role in making the profit out of it. If the decision has to be taken which totally new one for the managers, they have to as it depends on developing the business in a second new location. Whoever keeps this in mind and takes decision can be the manager for the new location.
