4. what evidence has Bandura presented to indicate that self-efficacy affects the body?
Self-efficacy is a person belief in relation to his/her ability to achieve the aims or objectives. According to Albert Bandura, self-efficacy is person belief regarding their capability to get success in a particular task or act. Self-efficacy can affect person life because beliefs of self-efficacy are an essential aspect of human behaviors and motivation.
Following are the evidence produced by Albert Bandura to indicate that self-efficacy affects body:
1.social cognitive theory –As per social cognitive theory of Bandura, human functioning takes place due to an interaction between 3 factors such as environmental, personal and behavioral factor.
A mood of an individual affects their judgment in relation to their personal efficacy. The good mood will increase perceived efficacy and bad mood will reduce the level of efficacy. Positive mood of a person will have a positive effect on the human body and a negative mood will affect negatively the human body.
2. Motivational process- self belief of efficacy plays an important role in self regulation of motivation. General attribution affects performance and motivation through belief of self-efficacy.
3. Affective processes- people perception about their coping capability affect how much stress and pressure they face in tough situation. Perceived self efficacy to control the pressure plays key role in anxiety arousal. Those persons who feel they can cope up easily with the problems during difficult work they will overcome from the stress and those who think they can’t handle the burden of workload and pressure their self-efficacy will affect their body adversely.
4.Other efficacy process-There are another efficacy process that has an adverse impact on the biological system that affects health functioning.
