After having read the chapter on Health and Medicine, think about the 'complementary/alternative' approaches to medicine mentioned in the text. Answer the following questions:
1. Do you think that we will see a wider acceptance of these methods in mainstream 'medicine' in the near future? (Whatever your answer, focus on one of the types of alternative medicine and explain WHY you think we will or will not see it more widely accepted)
2. What do you think contributes to the 'slowness of acceptance' of these methods in mainstream North American culture? Identify and explain please.
1) Yeah ,we will see wider acceptance of these methods in mainstream 'medcine' in the near future.
Complementary medicine refers to the treatment techinques that mixes up these therapies like yoga along with traditional medicine that is allopathic.
Alternate medicine that is use of non-traditional instead of traditional medicine.
Adopting the new treatment in the form of complementary medicine is more easier than alternative because alternative approach forced you to shift on new method completely.
Soon wider acceptance is going be seen for yoga around the world because people had started observing that it is beneficial approach with health benefits.Now a days everyone is practicing yoga to raise their immunity against many disease recently to fight against covid-19, people around the world is doing yoga.And there are no side effects in the yoga where as in the traditional medicine approach causes side effects.so people want to shift to a new approach which is more based on saftey rather than second stage which is cure.
2)
Reasons for slowness of acceptance of these methods in North American culture include;
Knowledge of yoga is unfamiliar to the people out there.
Due to absence of good yoga practitioners.
Very much orthodox and stick to traditional treatment.
Reluctance to adopt different treatment approach.
Reluctance to give time on daily basis.
Even though still yoga is not trending at all,one few places are practicing yoga now a days.
