Expert Solution

Solution for the problem is provided below, please comment if any doubts:

The major components of energy consumption model for a sensor model are:

  1. Processor energy model:
    • It is the modeling for energy consumption at the processing center, where the data is being processed and responsible for sensor control.
    • The processor uses the variable level of energy for its various operations like processing, control, and it can be some time in idle state.
    • Being the most important component of a sensor node, the processor energy model is the main component.
  2. Sensor energy model:
    • The sensors are the input apart of the sensor nodes, where the analog data is captured and convert to the proper form in order to perform various operation on that data by other components.
    • The functioning of sensor depends on the type of sensor node and its energy consumption is more or less same since most of the sensors is needed to work always.
  3. Transceiver energy model:
    • It is the communication component of the sensor to communicate with other sensor nodes or the main processing center.
    • The way in which the communication happens is determines the energy usage by its transceiver.
    • The low energy consumption models can be adopted to reduce the energy consumption by this component.
  4. Combined energy model:
    • This component deals with the combined energy usage of the various parts of the sensor nodes that mentioned above.
    • The collaboration of operations performed by the sensor node components will be responsible the total energy consumption.

Structural engineers use wireless sensor networks to monitor the condition of dams and bridges. An article describes an experiment in which accelerometers were placed on the Golden Gate Bridge for the purpose of estimating vibration modes. For 18 vertical modes, the system was underdamped (damping ratio < 1). Following are the damping ratios and frequencies for those modes. what is your opinion on this? Should companies use wireless technology for their networks? The use of wireless technology would be useful as it can promote cost-efficient measures as wireless networks are less expensive due to fewer cables being used and it’s extremely flexible because workers can still do work while away from the office. However, there’s more of a risk of being exposed to attacks, and speeds may be significantly slower than a wired network. What limits should be...

what is your opinion on this? Should companies use wireless technology for their networks? I think companies should use wireless technology as long as it is secure. Increased mobility can help with productivity. If an employee has to visit another work site (or home), they can still access the company network from anywhere. We're literally seeing this in real time with the pandemic. I think increased communication is the second biggest reason. Being able to communicate with coworkers anywhere to...
