You have researched Muller v. Oregon and have read Supreme Court Declares School Segregation Unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education. Choose one of these cases and look at the impact it had on society at the time. Look through the rulings and see what the justices on each side argued.
Muller v. Oregon case assertained that women are the wealth of a nation and that they are at disadvantage due to several reasons such as bearing children, weak physical make-up when compared to men etc. So, the court ordered to reduce the working hours of women which was historical. This at that point of time in 1908 had a profound implications for the women's rights. The society was slowly transforming and all the civil rights movements, including women's right to work, education, property and suffrage were at the peak of their struggle.
Brown Vs Board case is something different in which the supreme
court declared that the segregation of school based on race and
colour is unconstitutional. It was a huge victory for the black
people and it came at an appropriate time when Black civil rights
movements were fighting their last chance of getting even in the
society. Although, slavery was abolished a century before White
people were not ready to accept Black people as equals. With this
