Personal selling is one of the oldest forms of marketing communication; due to its effectiveness, it allows for targeting a specific message to a specific customer. However personal selling is not appropriate for every company or situation.
Personal selling is the process of the selling the goods to the customer by face-to-face meeting. Personal selling is one of the most effective selling method especially for the luxury items like cars, laptops etc, this method is being used the most.
There are many advantages of personal selling as it helps to interact with the customers directly, understand their needs and convince them to buy the products by explaining and applauding the features of the product. It is one of the great method of promotion by maintaining direct relation with the public.
But this method of selling is not appropriate for every company as it costs more than advertisement when we measure " per consumer cost". It is a costlier method. Also, this method is not suitable for the company who sells daily basis products like grocery. The company with good reputation in the market will prefer advertising over personal selling. Personal selling is a good method but it is not suitable for every company. New companies or luxury item company can go for it.
