The three community approches to prevent unintentional injurires includes Education,Regulation and automatic protection .
A Community approches to unintentional injury prevention include education to change people's behaviour, regulation to enact and enforce laws to control conduct ,and automatic protection to modify products so to reduce unintentional injuries , eg oxygen mask falling in plane,child safety locks on pull .The five factors can help to prevent unintentional injuries they are medication management,unsafe consumer products ,lack of vehicle restraint use ,motorcycle helmet,and exposure to occupational hazards.,unsafe home and community enviornments,and education and training.Examples of unintentional injuries are crashes,poisioning,falls.The four basic safety guideliness for recreational activities ,dont drink if you are drunk ,always wear seatbealt,minimize distractions,follow the speed limit and rules of the road ,and always let someone know where you are going and when you will come back.
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ,unintentional injuries including motor vechicle traffic crashes,falls,poisoning ,suffocations ,drawnings and fires/burns are the NO-1 cause of death for people.Always make sure homes are equipped throught with proper lightining,even surfaces ,functional smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and covered electrical outlets.Devise emergency plans,such as evacuation maps and emergency phone number lists and make sure all family members are aware of them.When at work place be sure that wearing protective eqipment and reflective gear,maintaining a functional sprinkler system,practicing regular fire drills .Whenever travelling in motor vehicle for any distance ,wear a seat belt at all times or for children safety use car seats or booster seats.
Other ways to help expand injury prevention initiatives in your community may include supporting school violence and bullying prevention programs.
