The role of health educator is to provide with proper education and training to personnel who serve at community center picinc. As an educator you should make understand the importance of hygiene and cleaniliness in and out of the chosen area and the surroundings. The importance of hygiene in food preparation is emphasizd to minimize the entry of food borne pathogens to cause infections. The proper food handling, cooking, storage and service practices are instructed to avoid the food brone infections or illnesses.

The water used for cooking and the utensils and vessels are properly cleaned before their use. The use of hand wash is recommended for cooks and assistants and food servers. The area chosen for picinic must be free from garbage and all kinds of wastes. The picnic spot should have individual rest rooms with proper disposal of human waste. The pet and other animals should not spoil the area of picnic spot.

The raw foods like vegetables are thouroughly washed and cooked. The meat and eggs are properly boiled. The milk is consumed only after pasteurization. The fruit juices or wine and canned foods and drinks are consumed only if they are in properly sealed containers. Avoid to consume foods from puffed pack materials and unsealed containers. The health educator must also ensure the food consumers to practise certain measures like handwash before consumption of food. All these safety and hygiene practices would help to avoid the food borne illness in a community gathering.
