Where does the Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) sign after they complete the count? When does a CRMA fill out an individual page in the bound book?
A CRMA or Certified Residential Medication Aide is a nursing assistant responsible for the administration of medication in an appropriate manner, recording, and documentation of the medical drug administration. Further, it reports incidents and sustains information of Resident rights, while taking care confidentiality of patients' information.
Schedule II drugs include those drugs which can potentially be abused and cause serious psychological dependence such as cocaine, oxycodone, and methamphetamine. In case these drugs are kept by the agency for which the CRMA works, it must have a bound book for the checks of the medication as per regulations.
The schedule II drugs are individual records are made that include name, prescription number, date, name of drug, dosage, frequency, and way of administration. it must be signed and verified by the person administering the drug which is CRMA. The daily count of the drug is maintained and signed in a record.
Weekly, all schedule II drugs on hand are counted and the count is recorded by CRMA in the bound book having numbered pages according to the standards of DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration).
