what is the pathophysiology of Acute Coronary Syndrome and pathophysiology of cardiac ischemia
Pathophysiology of Acute Coronary Syndrome
The heart is the main circulatory system of the body carrying blood to and fro. When there is an obstruction or abnormality in this function ,it leads to cessation of blood supply to the heart muscles causing death of it called as infarction this leads to an excruciating pain in the chest ,palpitations, central nervous system impact causing fatigue, dizziness, nause and vomiting, the reduction of blood supply to lungs leads to difficulty in breathing and if not treated leads to arrest and death
Pathophysiology of cardiac ischemia
The disease condition like atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, fat deposition in the blood vessels leads to decreased blood supply to the heart muscles. This leads to decrease in the oxygen supply to the muscles as a result ischemia occurs. There will be loss of function of the heart muscle leading to chest pressure, pain, radiating to left arm ,shoulder, jaw ,upper abdominal region. This will lead to difficulty in breathing, nausea, vomiting, perspiration, dizziness, etc., needing immediate medical help.
