Ans- The mistakes which presenters sometimes make when they present via a slide presentation is that sometimes long paragraphs are written which makes it look like dirty and no one is interested in reading those long paragraphs, too much of images are there which does not look good, the presenter themselves are not aware of the topic properly and just reads it from the screen and when asked something cannot answer it properly, the font size of the text, the background color is not appropriate, their voice is too low which cannot be heard properly.
As a listener/audience I would like if the presenter gives their presentation passionately and this passion will come if they are willing to give their presentation in front of everyone. Also when the text size, background color is appropriate it becomes easy for us to look at the presentation and we can understand it better, the text is written in bullet points and the presenter explains that point thoroughly.
The presenter asking questions to the audience and their voice is audible is what keeps me engaged as we can have meaningful conversations in that way and also it shows that the presenter is enthusiastic in giving his presentation. Also, when the topic is an interesting one and the presenter gives a lot of examples to explain the point and does not read the slides when giving an explanation I like to listen to it and it keeps me engaged throughout the presentation.
When it comes to speeches, I would generally take a topic which would generate interest among my audience so that my audience does not feel bored by listening to my speech and when we see that there is pin-drop silence among the audience then it encourages us to speak more as we know that our audience is loving our speech and interested in hearing it and so we perform well too. I would also ensure that my voice is audible to everyone.
When it comes to slide design I would make sure that the slides are simple, the background color, the font size is appropriate so that it is visible to everyone and the slides do not have many images all over it and would not keep too many bullet points as the audience can lose their interest if there are too many bullet points at a time. I would also include charts or graphs in slides if my presentation consists of showing data so that it can be understood easily.
