Family Members & Demographics:
Jim Manning (Dad, 54 Years, Male, Married)
Lora Manning (Mom, 49 Years, Female, Married)
Andy Manning (Son, 29 Years, Male, Unmarried)
Sam Manning (Son, 25 Years, Male, Unmarried)
Peter Manning (Son, 22 Years, Male, Unmarried)
Slide 3:
The family structure or composition that I have is of a nuclear family since two parents live with their children. There is no extended family here.
Slide 4:
Family is important to me because they are the ones who stand by you when you are weak or vulnerable. Family members support each other in times of need and you can always count on them.
Slide 5:
One issue in family relationship is conflict between Sam and Peter. Both have a dominant attitude and do not let go of issues easily. They constantly keep fighting and arguing over almost everything.
Slide 6:
Conflict Theory can be applied to the issue in slide 5. Conflict theory states that the society is in a constant state of conflict because of competition for limited resources and social order is maintained only by domination & power rather than consensus & conformity. So going by this theory the order is maintained in the family as two dominating adult parents possess the earning power and have a dominant/decision maker role in the family.
