Review the secondary data presented in the ANA Fast Facts and describe what the results say about this sample of the nursing workforce.
Describe the purpose and the intent of the ANA sharing these results?
The next process for our study is to collect data. The research design will indicate the best data to be collected. The tools that we use to collect data need to be reliable and valid. Define these terms with respect to research, and explain why they are important.
Consider data collection and measurement methods for your nursing clinical issue. Explain how you would collect data and what measurement methods you would us
The sample Nursing workforce says about the growth rate of the registered nurse in 2014. It also shows the increased job opportunities for nurses. The Median RN salaries were increased. The Highest RN median salaries are increased in the areas of Northeast and west. The average nurse salary for nurse practitioners was increased along with the number of RN. The top 10 metro areas do not show any changes in the highest median salaries.
The purpose of the sharing this results is to expose the need of increased number of the registered nurse by 2022. According to the U.S Bureau of Labor and statistics, around 1.1 million registered nurses are required in future to avoid the shortage. The main intent is to show the current employment status and mixed signals in the other areas.
The two main criteria for data collection are Validity and Reliability. Validity is a tool used to yield valid data. The researcher is asserting the findings whether the data is measured or reflect the specific category. Reliability refers to the accuracy of data. It is different from validity. Both reliability and validity are essential for a good study. The nursing workforce collects and monitors the data based on the age, gender, rural and urban areas, occupational areas, nursing education, nursing graduates, and the shortage of nursing faculty.
The collection of data is the basis for caregiving process. The data gathering is helpful for the sound clinical judgment of clinical issues. Data collection helps to further analyze the issues of the clinical problem and to find a solution. Observation method is the most important type of data collection method. The interview method is more helpful in collecting more detailed and relevant health information. The clinical examination is helpful to gather preliminary information necessary for the patient outcomes.
