Write a smart goal for an administrative assistant to succeed in career.
SMART goal:
A goal in order to be SMART has to follow five main criteria which are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound.
1. Specific: Stands for having a clear goal and not vague statements. One important goal for administrative assistant is to know the manager departmental goals and how the administrative assistant can help in achieving the same.
2. Measureable: Any goal needs to be framed in such a way that it can be measured like how much, indicator of progress etc. This can be measured by the quantitative methods like when the manager achieves the target the administrative assistant contribution in achievement of that percentage of target can be measured as admin achievement.
3. Attainable: A SMART goal should be realistic in nature and hence the statement should clearly specify what product or service they deal with and how realistic to achieve the customer service. The manager has to allot the right percentage of target of admin assistance reducing the purchasing cost by 10 percentage and then the admin assistant would now be responsible for reduction in 10 percentage.
4. Relevant: A sales admin assistant role can be tagged to sales roles only and not to any other departments like human resource, finance etc.
5. Timely: A SMART goal should have start and finish date. The admin assistance has to be given a time of one to six months for interim review wherein atleast five percentage out of that 10 percentage has to be achieved and the next 5 percentage on the next six month to be achieved.
